One contract between content and reading.

Start small. Add what your readers need.

Core reading stays compact. Optional profiles extend it without replacing your existing endpoints.

Plain text, Markdown and sanitized HTML, with clear chapter identities and image URL resolution.

The contract defines these profiles. Each source declares what it implements; reader support must be verified separately.

An open boundary that can grow with you.

Storage, content adaptation and the reader have distinct responsibilities. Change one without rewriting the others.

Stable identity
Keep source, book and chapter IDs stable when URLs or storage change.
Explicit capabilities
Advertise working features. Existing 1.x sources keep their core reading path.
Coherent snapshots
Cache derived catalogs and invalidate them when content changes, even if chapter count stays the same.

Origo Source is the Origo X source ecosystem. ORSP means Origo Source Protocol. New sources use origo-source and HTTPS; HTTP and legacy aliases remain supported.

Build with a Skill. Verify with real requests.

The downloadable kit includes a runnable Python starter, scaffolding, canonical schemas and HTTP validation tools. It works without fetching a second contract copy.

  1. Install the Skill

Unzip origo-source-builder into your assistant’s Skill directory, or ask it to read SKILL.md.

  2. Describe your source

Tell it what content you own, where it lives and which profiles you need.

  3. Run and verify

Start the generated source locally, edit a chapter and check the actual discovery URL before deployment.

Try this request

Use $origo-source-builder to create my own source for original articles and serial chapters. Keep IDs stable, support chapter updates, and verify the service with real HTTP requests.

The starter implements text reading, browsing and chapter updates. EPUB, media and rankings come with contracts and reference fixtures for adding them.
