Themes and personalization
Export and share V4 suites, choose launch screens, reader paper and fonts, and apply manually.

V4 is the current protocol. New works may include launch screens alongside app artwork, palettes, reader themes and fonts. Legacy V1/V2/V3 packages remain readable. Import saves a copy; application is explicit. Current manifest · Historical V1.
Share your own appearance
In a newer app supporting V3, open Profile → Preferences → Themes and appearance → My themes, then choose Share current appearance, or share an existing saved theme from its menu. Current appearance captures icons, app artwork, light/dark palettes and the current icon size. Reader paper and Theme fonts are optional selections. Glass settings, opacity and appearance mode remain the recipient's choices.
- File sharing: export a self-contained ZIP and send it to your friend. They import the file in My themes; no server upload is needed.
- Link sharing: sign in, generate a temporary link, choose its lifetime and copy it to your friend. The maximum is 6 hours. They choose URL import and paste the link; downloading needs no account. Both the submitted and normalized package must be at most 32 MiB.
- Manual application: import adds a saved copy without changing the active appearance. Different contents with the same ID can coexist. The recipient reviews and applies the desired components in My themes.
Revoke a link early from link management. Expired or revoked links cannot download again; already imported local copies remain usable offline. Temporary links are a delivery channel, not permanent backups or marketplace publication. Exports contain no account sessions, sources, books, reading history or login tokens.
Reader paper and font scope
When sharing the current appearance, Reading paper captures the actual active light and dark paper. Opening animations, paragraph-review decoration, information bar styling, comment cards and layout preferences remain the recipient's choices. An existing V3 suite may declare additional reader modules; see the manifest reference. Comment cards cover both chapter discussions (本章说) and god comments (神评论) and remain independent from Reading paper.
Theme fonts include interface, body, header and footer choices. System fonts remain explicit system choices rather than copied device files. Custom TTF/OTF files need retained redistribution licenses; an online font without its retained license cannot be exported. TXT and EPUB must use the same body font. Incompatible selections, missing licenses, device fonts and book-only fonts produce a clear error; deselect fonts to share the rest of the appearance.
Older apps may require an update before importing V3. Local package installation is unsupported in the Web app. Preserve font licenses, artwork attribution and original author information.
Choose your appearance
Open Profile → Preferences → Themes and appearance. The updated hub has My themes for choosing, importing and managing packages; Theme Market for discovery and installation; and Appearance for independent colors, icon size and light/dark mode. Built-in artwork collections include Coastal Letter, Garden Reading and Cosmic Journey; you can also restore the original appearance.
V3 skin and palette modules cover legacy V1 capabilities: three palette colors, 80 semantic icon slots, a page background and navigation artwork. Colors and artwork are stored independently. A color-only theme preserves artwork; an artwork-only theme preserves colors.
An artwork theme with colors adds a companion to the color-theme list. Its name defaults to the artwork's name, and it remains independently selectable. Choosing the artwork selects that companion; you can then choose another palette manually. Choosing the artwork again restores its companion. Creators can also preset a distinct palette name in the manifest.
Reader preferences remain independent
Reader paper, background, fonts, size, line spacing and page-turn behavior belong to Reading and layout. V1 artwork packages do not overwrite them; manually applying V3 can select its reader paper or fonts. Glass material and opacity are independent preferences too. The system launcher icon is a separate choice and cannot be supplied by a theme ZIP.
Install a community theme
Open the market from the app theme page to download, install and select approved themes. The website market provides previews and downloads. The app validates package version, files and hashes; installed packages can be selected offline. Local package installation is unsupported in the Web app.
Downloading a new version does not automatically replace the version currently selected. Select it explicitly and check both color and artwork layers. Removing an unused newer version does not clear an older active selection.

Import a local ZIP from the updated My themes toolbar. Drafts and releases sharing an ID live in one card; open its menu for saved versions. A conflict can keep both copies or explicitly replace a local draft. Artwork icons can be resized from 75% to 120% and reset to the creator’s recommendation without changing touch targets, labels or backgrounds.
