AI reading assistant with DeepSeek

Get a DeepSeek API key and enable an AI model for reading questions in Origo X.

Nesta página

1. Get an API key

Register or sign in to the DeepSeek platform. Open API Keys, create a key and copy it in full. Check your available balance and top up if needed. DeepSeek charges for API usage separately from your Origo X membership.

Use an API key, not your login password. Keep it private and out of public screenshots.

2. Add the model in Origo X

Open Settings → AI reading assistant, choose DeepSeek, and check the following fields on the add-model screen:

Field Value
Provider DeepSeek
Model preset DeepSeek V4 Pro
Service URL https://api.deepseek.com
API protocol Auto-detect (OpenAI-compatible)
API Key Your complete API key
Model ID deepseek-v4-pro

The preset fills in the URL and model ID. Usually you only need to paste your key and tap Add and enable. Paste the key without quotes or a Bearer prefix. Do not use the chat website URL as the service URL. You can also start from Add model and select the DeepSeek provider and preset.

Fetching the model list is optional and requires a key first. You can add the preset directly; use the fetched list if you want a different currently available model.

3. Ask a reading question

Return to a book, tap Ask AI, enter a question and send it. An internet connection is required. Your question and relevant reading content are sent to your configured provider.

If a request fails, check your full key, account balance and service URL. If a model is unavailable, fetch the model list and choose a supported ID. For other providers, choose their preset and enter their own key, URL, protocol and model before enabling.

See the official DeepSeek API guide for service URLs, protocols and model IDs.
